THE BIDDING GAME: ACQUIRING ASSETS FROM THE FDIC
Doing business with government institutions has both its challenges and opportunities. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is no different. This panel will provide a basic understanding of the opportunities available to acquire assets from the FDIC. It will explore how and where those opportunities can be found, how acquisitions can be structured, and how to qualify as a bidder including securing the required Purchaser Eligibility Certification. In addition, the panel will explore the ways in which transactions with the FDIC today can be expected to differ from transactions consummated with the Resolution Trust Company (RTC) in the early 1990s.
